Todd Simmons named chairman of National Chicken Council
Todd Simmons, CEO of Siloam Springs-based Simmons Foods, was recently named chairman of the National Chicken Council at the industry trade group’s 61st Annual Conference held Oct. 29 in Washington.
Simmons makes the third generation of his family to run their large privately-held poultry operation. He grew up in the business begun by his grandfather Bill Simmons and then continued by his father Mark Simmons. Todd Simmons took the reigns as CEO in 2012 and he’s held management roles since 1994.
Simmons Foods is a major supplier of chicken and chicken products internationally (39%) and food service (30%) industrial customers (19%) and at retail (12%). The company has annual sales of roughly $700 million, according to WattAtNet.com.
