NorthWest Arkansas Community College will offer a one-stop shop for individuals interested in taking college credit classes or pursuing a workforce certification or high school equivalency diploma.

The Return to Learn event begins at 6 p.m.m Nov. 10, in room 108 of the Becky Paneitz Student Center on the Bentonville campus.

Return to Learn is a student recruitment event aimed at helping nontraditional students overcome some of the hurdles that previously may have prevented them from enrolling in college courses.

“Return to Learn is NWACC’s way of removing some of the stress out of entering college,” said Zach Pharr, director of admissions and advising. “Trying to navigate the financial aid, admissions and advising process can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you also are juggling responsibilities of a full-time job.”

He said the event is held after regular business hours brings together college staff from admissions as well as financial aid so that interested attendees can get all the basic information they need in one place.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their 2014 tax return to the event if they want to have a financial aid staff assist them with filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

The college will also provide food and drinks to those who attend along with a few door prizes.

College officials said there will be staff on hand to help those who also might be interested in obtaining workforce certification or perhaps a a GED. Additional information can be provided by contacting the college at (479) 619-3103.
