War Eagle Fair
Fall has arrived, bringing with it that wonderful combination of warm days and cool nights, colorful splashes of fall leaves, and beautiful dewy mornings. The return of all things pumpkin and football has filled the air with excitement. Even more exciting, the 62nd anniversary of the War Eagle Fair™ is right around the corner.
The War Eagle Fair is the oldest and largest of three separate fairs held in the War Eagle River valley each October. The War Eagle Fair is frequently recognized as one of the top events of its type in the country. This year the Fair was ranked number 11 on Sunshine Artist Magazine’s Top 200 list. The original War Eagle Fair, located on the west side of the river, is sponsored by the Ozark Arts and Crafts Fair Association, a non-profit organization. During this same weekend, the War Eagle Mill holds a small craft and culinary fair in their parking lot, and the Sharp’s Show is held in the field beyond the Mill.
The 62nd Annual War Eagle Fair will be held October 15-18 on the War Eagle Mills Farm in War Eagle, Arkansas. For the best driving directions, enter 11037 High Sky Inn Road, Hindsville, AR, in your GPS. The fair will be open 8 am to 5 pm Thursday through Saturday and 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Admission, as always, is free. Ample parking is available for $3 per vehicle. Please remember that only service animals are permitted on the fairgrounds.
Visitors are reminded that new weight and travel restrictions have been placed on the old iron, one-lane bridge spanning the War Eagle River. These restrictions will likely slow traffic and cause some delays. More information about these new restrictions can be found on the Fair’s blog at wareaglefair.blogspot.com.
More information about the fair is available at www.wareaglefair.com or by calling 479-789-5398. The fair can also be found on Facebook and Instagram.
