Free Breast Cancer Screening
The No Excuses Breast Cancer Outreach Program, a service of Washington Regional Cancer Support Home, will offer free clinical breast exams Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Community Clinic located at 614 E. Emma Ave., Suite 300, Springdale.
The examinations are offered at no cost to the public and are performed by physicians and registered nurse practitioners. Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, please call 479-521-8024. Appointments in Spanish may be made by calling the Cancer Support Home’s Spanish-language line at 479-387-5595.
The American Cancer Society recommends clinical breast exams every year for women ages 40 and over. The clinical breast exam is a manual exam and does NOT include a mammogram. However, follow-up mammography and imaging services for clinic participants without insurance coverage for mammography are also available through No Excuses or other assistance programs. Interpretation services are provided on the day of the clinic for Spanish-speaking clients.
Since its inception in 1995, the No Excuses Breast Cancer Outreach Program has been a champion for early detection of breast cancer by helping thousands of women and men overcome the excuses often given for neglecting breast health. Specifically, the program addresses financial, language and cultural barriers by providing free breast cancer screenings, financial assistance with diagnostic procedures and strategic breast health education.
No Excuses is part of the Comprehensive Breast Health program made available by Washington Regional Cancer Support Home through a grant received from the Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
