UAMS Names New Pharmacy Dean
The UAMS College of Pharmacy has named Keith M. Olsen, Pharm. D., as its new dean, UAMS announced Friday in a press release. He will begin his new job on or before Nov. 1.
Olsen since 2007 has chaired the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Pharmacy. He also is manager of education and research at the Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Pharmaceutical and Nutrition Care.
According to the press release, Olsen “specializes in critical care and infectious diseases, teaching and serving as the Infectious Disease Section coordinator for pharmacotherapy II, and is a preceptor for the critical care and infectious diseases clerkships.”
He was a UAMS College of Pharmacy faculty member from 1989 to 1993. He was associate professor and directed the Clinical Pharmacokinetic Laboratory and Monitoring Service, the release said.
His predecessor, Stephanie Gardner, Pharm. D., Ed. D., is now the university’s provost and chief academic officer.
