According to Startup Junkie:
The mission of 100 Girls of Code is to achieve gender parity in STEM fields by introducing more young women to coding education and computer engineering at a young age. The organization seeks to inspire more female participation in STEM by providing young women an opportunity to create and gain confidence in what they create. All 100 Girls of Code workshops are led by female programmers who are not only experts in their fields and academically trained, but most importantly, they are “girls of code” themselves.
Haley Cleous of Startup Junkie said, “We have volunteer instructors who are ‘girls of code’ representing Walmart, J.B. Hunt, and Rev Unit for the workshop on Aug. 8th.”
