State Rolls Out New Security Feature For Electronic Filing Of Business Taxes
Starting July 1, the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration will implement a new security procedure for access to the Arkansas Taxpayer Access Point (ATAP).
The move is an effort to upgrade security protocols for accessing and managing tax records online, the agency said.
ATAP is a free web-based service for Arkansas taxpayers to register a business, file a return, make payments and manage their tax accounts online for Sales and Use Tax, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax and other taxes.
The new security procedure will change the login process for ATAP.
The user will be asked to enter an authorization code in addition to password. The user will then be given the option to receive the initial authorization code by email or text message.
For subsequent account logins, users will be given the option to either trust their machine so that the authorization code is not required or the user may request a new authorization code for login.
Arkansas taxpayers with questions regarding the new ATAP security procedure should contact the ATAP Help Desk at (501) 683-2827.
