A seasoned executive and entrepreneur will speak Thursday (May 21) at the Inventors Club of Northeast Arkansas.

Ted Moskal will talk about the work needed to become a successful inventor and entrepreneur, Jim Melescue, the president of the club said Monday.

The meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. at Wild Hog BBQ, located in the Highland Center strip mall at 2810 E Highland Dr., in Jonesboro.

Since moving to Arkansas in 2003, Moskal assisted various Arkansas groups in knowledge-based job creation.

He founded two Arkansas-based biosciences companies: Litmus and Vivione Biosciences, taking Vivione to an IPO in 2013 on the Canadian stock exchange.

With the support of a forward thinking family, Moskal started his first business at the age of 12 — a landscaping business.

At the same time, his 10-year-old brother started a competing landscaping business. The two were forced to merge after about a year by their father. At the time of the merger, the pair had over a dozen employees and around 100 customers.

Ted received his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University in 1986. After college, he was recruited into a number of leadership positions within a variety of technology companies. He moved south in the 1990’s, working for FedEx on aerospace product development and corporate strategy.

“Ted strongly believes that with dedication, anyone can be a successful inventor and entrepreneur. He believes the key is working half days — you just need to decide which 12 hours to work out of the 24 available,” Melescue said.

Those interested in joining the club are encouraged to attend the meeting. Dues are not required at the first meeting; however, attendees are responsible for paying for their own meal.

The meeting agenda:

6:00-6:30 Fellowship, eating and networking at Wild Hog BBQ

6:30-7:15 pm Ted Moskal will talk about “How to become a successful inventor and entrepreneur”

7:15-7:30 Fellowship and networking
