Butterfield Trail Village recently opened a new aquatic center with pool, fitness and spa facilities, and a new assisted living cottage on its 44-acre campus in Northwest Arkansas.

Butterfield is a retirement community in Northwest Arkansas catering to active lifestyles and dedicated to the ongoing health and wellbeing of its residents.

“Butterfield has a proud history of serving our residents for the past 29 years,” Butterfield President and CEO Quintin Trammell said in a statement. “These new ultra-modern facilities are an integral part of our facilities master plan, and we’ve designed them to enhance and sustain the health and vitality of our residents now and for generations to come.”

The $2.4 million, 8,670-square-foot aquatic center features a 45’ x 35’ glass-enclosed, heated pool with dedicated lap lanes and areas for warm-water therapy and deep-water aerobics. There is a full workout room complete with senior-specific cardio/strength equipment, as well as an exercise area with space dedicated for group classes. A hot tub area, spa and massage therapy services, and a full-service beauty salon round out the aquatic center’s amenities.

The $2.8 million Assisted Living Cottage and its offerings complete the LifeCare continuum of care for Butterfield residents. With more than 9,000 square feet, the cottage features nine single-bedroom units and three two-bedroom suites. There is a common area with a fireplace, seating, and a coffee and juice bar. With a full kitchen onsite, residents can choose from tablecloth meal service or dine privately. The cottage is also equipped for onsite physical therapy sessions for residents.

“The new Assisted Living Cottage is an option for residents who want a greater level of personal care, but who do not need the full care provided elsewhere on the campus at the Butterfield Healthcare Center,” said Steve Larson, director of Healthcare Services.
