Hoops For Kids’ Sake Legislative Rosters Complete, Governor To Play For Senate
The Wednesday, March 4 charity basketball game between the Arkansas State Senate and House has rounded out its rosters.
The 3rd annual basketball game will take place at 7 p.m. at UALR’s Jack Stephens Center. It will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and the Boys & Girls Club of Bryant and of Saline County. Tickets are $10.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson will play on the Arkansas Senate team this year. The Senate roster includes:
Senators Alan Clark, Linda Chesterfield, Linda Collins-Smith, John Cooper, Joyce Elliott, Jane English, Jim Hendren, Bart Hester, Jeremy Hutchinson, Keith Ingram, Missy Irvin, Blake Johnson, Bruce Maloch, Bobby Pierce, Bill Sample, David Sanders, Gary Stubblefield, Larry Teague, Eddie Joe Williams and Jon Woods.
Arkansas Razorback Coach Bret Bielema will serve as the coach for the Arkansas Senate team. Senate President Jonathan Dismang will serve as honorary assistant coach with Senator Hutchinson as team captain.
Celebrity players and media personalities for the Senate include former Razorbacks Ronnie Brewer and Blake Eddins, along with KATV Ch. 7’s Janelle Lilley and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporter Spencer Willems. KTHV-11’s Craig O’Neill will serve as honorary captain for the team.
The House roster includes Representatives Charles Blake, Justin Boyd, David Branscum, Bruce Cozart, Jim Dotson, Lance Eads, Speaker Jeremy Gillam, Michelle Gray, Kim Hendren, Grant Hodges, Jack Ladyman, Mark Lowery, Reginald Murdock, Rebecca Petty, Matthew Pitsch, Chris Richey, Matthew Shepherd, Dan Sullivan, DeAnn Vaught, John Vines and Richard Womack.
Celebrity players and media personalities include former Razorbacks Pat Bradley and D.J. Williams, A-State Red Wolves Coach Blake Anderson and Freddy Hicks, and KARK-4/KLRT-Fox 16 reporter Drew Petrimoulx.
KATV Ch. 7 sports anchor Steve Sullivan will serve as coach for the Arkansas House team. Reps. Branscum and Vines will serve as co-captains of the House team.
David Bazzel and RJ Hawk, co-hosts of The Show With No Name on 103.7 The Buzz, will provide pre-game introductions and in-game interviews. The Sunday Buzz host Bill Vickery, current Gov. Hutchinson spokesman J.R. Davis and former Gov. Beebe spokesman Matt DeCample will provide color commentary.
