THE SUPPLY SIDE: SUPPLIER UNVEILS NEW PHOTO SERVICE LINKED TO WAL-MART – Holoma Inc., a product development consultant group in Miami, has partnered exclusively with Wal-Mart Stores on a new interactive photo service dubbed U4D-iT for this holiday season.

U4D-iT.com uses advanced image recognition technology that allows consumers to create interactive photo cards and gifts that play a related video. For example, consumers can design a Christmas card featuring a photo of children who then come to life decorating their Christmas tree with the imposed video.

TECH COCKTAIL: AN EYE ON OVERWATCH – Startup blog Tech Cocktail highlights the latest on Overwatch, an Arkansas gaming company founded by recently graduated high school senior Josh Moody of Little Rock.

Overwatch is an app that utilizes GPS technology to integrate with paintball, laser tag and Airsoft guns so that players can have video gaming experiences in those real-life games. From Tech Cocktail:

After launching his business and winning the ARK Challenge, the young CEO wrapped up high school, graduating this past spring. What’s next? Josh says that the initial app development is done and by leveraging a key strategic partnership, the Overwatch device should be on store shelves in early 2015.

ARKANSAN IN ‘10,000 SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAM’: Bradford Caldwell, CFO for East Arkansas Broadcasters (EAB), recently graduated from the “10,000 Small Businesses Program” at Babson College just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Caldwell attended two in-person sessions at Babson College. EAB is the largest radio group in the state of Arkansas in terms of the number of radio stations with 24 stations, and Caldwell says he’s bringing a plethora of ideas back to the family business.

In the U.S., Goldman Sachs “10,000 Small Businesses” is a $500 million investment program to help entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing them with greater access to education, financial capital and business support services. Caldwell was one of 90 participants selected out of a nationwide applicant pool of 300. Graduates go through a number of modules throughout the program and complete a growth plan for their business.
