Second District Congressman and Lt. Gov.-elect Tim Griffin, R-Little Rock, fulfilled a campaign pledge to reduce his staff in half and named two employees to his new office.

Griffin, who was elected to the state’s No. 2 chief executive spot on Nov. 4, has named Annamarie Atwood as Chief of Staff and Kelsi Bodine as Communications Director and Executive Assistant.

Atwood served as the campaign manager for Griffin’s campaign for Lt. Governor and previously served in the office of Cong. Griffin.

“Over the past four years Annamarie has excelled in every role, including in my congressional office where she demonstrated the ability to solve problems and get things done. She will provide leadership to my office as we work with the Governor and General Assembly during the upcoming session,” said Griffin.

Bodine served as field director for the Griffin Lt. Governor campaign. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Ouachita Baptist University.

“Kelsi’s attention to detail, and organizational and communication skills will be assets to my office,” said Griffin.

Griffin said reducing the staff of the Lt. Governor’s office from four employees to two will be manageable. He said he expected to create opportunities for internships within the office as well.

The office of Lt. Governor has been vacant since earlier this year when Lt. Gov. Mark Darr resigned from the office.

The Lt. Governor presides over the Arkansas State Senate when it is in session and is the first in line to succeed the Arkansas Governor in the event of an inability to serve.
