Bass Pro Set To Acquire Ranger Boats
Scott Inman with our content partner, KATV Ch. 7, reports:
Bass Pro is buying an Arkansas-based boat manufacturer.
Bass Pro Group announced Thursday (Dec. 11) that it has an agreement to acquire Fishing Holdings, LLC. That company makes Ranger boats, among other brands. The business is headquartered in Flippin, Arkansas.
Ranger manufactures more than 40 models of bass, saltwater, aluminum and other boats.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to the two companies, nothing much will change in the day-to-day operations in Flippin. Fishing Holdings will continue to operate independently under its existing management.
“This partnership brings added long-term stability for both companies and for the dealer networks that provide customers with quality boats at exceptional values,” said Johnny Morris, founder/CEO of Bass Pro Shops.
Bass Pro is headquartered in Springfield, Missouri.
Local reports from Springfield detail the history of Ranger boats’ ownership, which includes Arkansas business and fishing legend Forrest Wood. Read more here.
