John Brummett Talks Politics, New TB&P Role
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette political columnist John Brummett was a guest on this week’s edition of Talk Business & Politics, which aired Sunday at 9 a.m. on KATV Ch. 7.
Brummett, who will become a regular contributor to Talk Business & Politics, said the latest poll results released by TB&P and Hendrix College, will require a near-Herculean effort by Democrats to overcome Republican advantages in the Senate and Governor’s races.
The latest TB&P-Hendrix College survey showed Republicans Tom Cotton and Asa Hutchinson with roughly 8-point leads over their respective Democratic rivals, Mark Pryor and Mike Ross.
“I think those races are imminently over, imminently victories for the Republicans unless there is some truth to the miraculous turnout efforts that the Democratic Party has been talking about for months,” Brummett said.
Brummett offered additional observations on Congressional races 2 and 4, which you can watch in the video at the bottom of this post.
In the upcoming November/December magazine edition of Talk Business & Politics, Brummett’s cover story on the 10th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Library will be featured.
His article examines the back story on how the library came to be located at its current site, what Clinton and city leaders hoped it would spark in downtown Little Rock, and opportunities and challenges facing the area in the near- and long-term future.
Readers will be able to read the story later this week ahead of next month’s ten-year anniversary, which includes a number of special events.
