Election Central: New TV Ad, Early Voting In Governor’s Race
KATV’s Elicia Dover delivers Wednesday’s Election Central Daily Brief, which focuses on a new ad and early voting in the Governor’s race.
NEW ASA AD
Republican gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson has released a new TV ad called “Proven Record,” in which he talks about his job highlights. In the ad, Hutchinson said he fought white supremacists as a young U.S. Attorney, fought meth dealers as an administrator of the DEA, and served as a Homeland Security official.
Tomorrow, Hutchinson heads to Northwest Arkansas to continue his “Asa plan tour” to highlight his plans if elected governor.
In that same race, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Ross voted early today in Little Rock.
Ross will visit Mena, Paris, Booneville, Waldron, Dumas and Pine Bluff this week as part of his statewide “Jobs First” tour.
Also of interest, yesterday Hutchinson was endorsed by the former president of the NRA. Ross responded saying he wants to challenge Hutchinson to a round of sporting clays, adding he promises to go easy on him.
Hutchinson responded, “I am postponing my time in the woods until after the election.”
COTTON MONEY
In the U.S. Senate race, Republican Tom Cotton reports he’s raised roughly around $985,000 in the last 15 days during the period between Oct. 1-15.
No word from the Pryor camp on their fundraising during the period.
The pre-general report is due tomorrow and is the last FEC report the federal candidates will file before the election. The campaigns of course have to file others, but we won’t see those numbers until December.
