Election Central: New Ads In Senate, Governor Races

CLINTON TO CAMPAIGN
Former President Bill Clinton will headline rallies and campaign for Arkansas Democrats in Conway, Jonesboro, Fayetteville and Rogers for two days next week. Clinton’s swing through the state will be on Monday, October 6th and Tuesday, October 7th. Tickets will be required to attend the events, but all events are free and open to the public.
SENATE RACE UPDATE
In the Senate race, Mark Pryor in Texarkana highlighting what he describes as Tom Cotton’s votes against women and the economy. Pryor also saying Cotton voted for tax breaks for billionaires.
Tom Cotton released a new TV ad featuring a small business owner’s struggle to provide health care to employees blaming Pryor’s vote on the federal health care law – Obamacare. Cotton says due to the strength of its third quarter fundraising, the ad was put in rotation. TB&P blogger Jason Tolbert notes that Cotton is on air with ads in several border markets in Arkansas.
GOVERNOR’S RACE UPDATE
And in the Governors race, Asa Hutchinson unveiling a new TV ad today focusing on his economic plan for Arkansas. The Republican gubernatorial nominee makes mention that his ad hopes to be a departure from the “negativity” in current political ads.
Democratic rival Mike Ross launching a statewide “Jobs First” tour to travel the state to talk about his plans on education, tax cuts and better paying jobs.
Also on Tuesday, former Florida Governor and potential Presidential contender Jeb Bush will be in Arkansas to campaign for Hutchinson.
