Constitutional Officer Fundraising Light, But Competitive In August
Yesterday’s report of GOP gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson raising more in August than Democratic competitor Mike Ross was largely an exception to the rule for down-ballot races where Democrats outpaced their Republican counterparts in all but one race.
In the Lt. Governor’s race, Republican Tim Griffin raised more money in August than Democrat John Burkhalter but Democrats for the other constitutional offices raised more in the five remaining positions.
However, only four Democrats of the seven constitutional posts held cash-on-hand advantages over Republicans at the end of the month.
