Acxiom Hiring 150 In Austin, Texas

The Austin Business Journal reports that Little Rock-based Acxiom Corp. will open a 150-person office in Austin, Texas in November.

Acxiom plans to hire network engineers, security engineers, and network architects, according to the report.

With two straight disappointing quarterly losses, Acxiom has been in a transformative undertaking with its business model as digital marketing has eaten into direct mail marketing budgets. Acxiom provides both types of services to clients.

In a Talk Business & Politics interview earlier this year with Acxiom CEO Scott Howe, he discussed the transition taking place at the 40-year old company and in the marketing industry.

“In a sense, we’re coming full circle,” Howe said. “For 40 years, Acxiom has been the leader in database marketing, particularly applied to direct mail, but there’s a disruption happening all around us where most people don’t just read direct mail anymore.”
