Staff promotions announced within Razorback football program
Justin Maland has been promoted to associate athletic director for facilities and Mark Taurisani was promoted to assistant athletic director for football operations.
“The new titles for Justin and Mark are a reflection of their outstanding work on behalf of Razorback Athletics,” Razorback Athletic Director Jeff Long said in a statement. “Justin has played an important leadership role in guiding our facilities division including coordinating the scheduling and ongoing maintenance of our current facilities while helping plan projects in the facilities master plan. Serving within our football program, Mark has coordinated the daily logistics for that program while helping serve as an important liaison with many other areas of our department. We appreciate their efforts and look forward to their continued contributions as members of our senior administrative team.”
Maland, a native of Harrison, is in his 15th year with Razorback Athletics and is a member of the department’s senior staff. His primary responsibilities include oversight of all Razorback athletic facilities including budgeting, game day operations, scheduling, upkeep, maintenance, long-range planning, daily facility operations, contracting services with outside vendors and coordination of special events.
Taurisani is in his second year with Razorback Athletics after coming to the University of Arkansas as director of football operations. He is responsible for team logistics and the day-to-day operations of the football program including organizing fall camp, team game weekend arrangements at home and on the road, weekly team schedules, bowl game preparations and spring football schedule and logistics. Taurisani also assists with summer football camps. Prior to coming to Arkansas, Taurisani worked with head football coach Bret Bielema for seven years including three of those as the Badgers’ football operations coordinator.
In addition to the promotions of Maland and Taurisani, Long announced that Associate Athletics Director for Business Byron Hatch and Associate Athletics Director for Event Management and Sports Administration Chris Pohl have been added to the department’s executive staff.
Hatch will also now assist with sports administrator duties for football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country and track and field and volleyball. Pohl, who has previously served as the sport administrator for soccer, now also serves as the sport administrator for gymnastics and softball.
