Pets Alive
Pets Alive Northwest Arkansas will host Nathan Winograd, well-known animal rights activist, as he brings his No Kill Is Love National Tour to Northwest Arkansas on Saturday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Jones Center Auditorium in Springdale, Arkansas. Winograd will screen his film, Redemption: The No Kill Revolution in America, a film based on his groundbreaking book of the same title, and speak on how we can save every healthy or treatable homeless pet in our community.
The film covers the history of animal sheltering in the U.S., beginning with the 1866 founding of the first SPCA in New York City, the rise of the No Kill movement in the 1990s, and continuing to today’s No Kill success in diverse communities across the nation, including Marquette, Michigan; Ithaca, New York; Austin, Texas; and Reno, Nevada.
Tickets to the Northwest Arkansas screening are $5 and are available online via Eventbrite.com. For more information about Redemption, visit nokill.org. For more information about Pets Alive, visit petsalivenorthwestarkansas.org.
