New Ads From Hutchinson, Burkhalter, Steel
A slew of new TV ads are warming up the August airwaves in Arkansas.
Asa Hutchinson, the GOP nominee for Governor, unveiled a new ad on Monday that spotlights his granddaughter, Ella Beth.
In the ad, Hutchinson touts her as inspiration for his initiative to expand computer science and coding in “every Arkansas high school.”
“It’s a high-paying skill and it’s the future for many Arkansas boys. .. and girls,” Hutchinson said.
After high-fiving his granddaughter, she replies, “Right, Papa.”
Hutchinson faces Democrat Mike Ross in November.
Democratic Lt. Governor nominee John Burkhalter has a “character” ad in rotation featuring his childhood pastor, Rev. Jim Keith.
The ad touts Burkhalter’s Eagle Scout and family credentials, as well as his business background.
“I trust John Burkhalter. He has the values that Arkansas needs,” Keith says.
Burkhalter is opposed by Republican Tim Griffin in November.
Democratic Attorney General candidate Nate Steel has a web ad that his campaign said will be turned into a TV spot highlighting his prosecutor credentials and efforts to improve child protection.
His campaign has been handing out whistles that he says serve two purposes. One is to serve as protection; the other is to encourage discussion among parents and children on safety issues.
“We can take a tough stand fighting child predators,” Steel says in the spot before enumerating several action items he suggests can help reduce the problem.
Steel faces Republican Leslie Rutledge in November. You can view all three ads below.
