Ty Storey, who is heading into his senior year as quarterback at Charleston High School, has agreed to join the Arkansas Razorback football program. He is scheduled to enroll at the University of Arkansas in January 2015.

One of the top 2015 recruits in the nation, Storey led Charleston High School to a perfect 15-0 mark and the Arkansas 3A state championship in his junior season, and he has passed for 8,701 yards and 101 touchdowns in his career. He has also carried the ball for 511 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2013, he was named the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the year with 4,241 passing yards and 52 touchdowns to go with 180 yards on the ground and six rushing TDs.

“I am pleased to announce that Ty will be joining the Razorbacks after he finishes his prolific high school career,” Head football Coach Bret Bielema said in a statement issued Saturday (Aug. 2). “As one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, he starts our signing class in a strong way and he realizes the significance of student-athletes from our state playing for Arkansas. Ty is a blue collar player who grew up with a strong work ethic instilled in him by his family. His attitude and approach to the game fit perfectly with the philosophies we operate with as a program.”

The Charleston, Ark. native has already been nominated for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Storey is the fifth-best pro-style quarterback in the nation according to Rivals.com and the top prospect in the state. 247Sports.com ranks him as the No. 7 pro-style quarterback and No. 3 player in Arkansas.

Storey chose Arkansas over numerous scholarship offers including Alabama and Auburn.
