July includes NWA Music on the Move, Dream Big Gala
Northwest Arkansas will enjoy Music on the Move, Stuff the Bus, Dream Big Charity Gala, and an Unplugged Concert in the coming weeks. It’s a lot to pack in around vacations.
• NWA Music on the Move 2014
Drums Corps International will invade Bentonville on July 15 for the third annual NWA Music on the Move. The evening will feature some of the country's premier musicians performing elaborate musical and marching routines.
Scheduled bands include the famed "Colts" from Dubuque, Iowa, "Pioneer" from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, "Music City" from Nashville, Tennessee, and many others from across the United States.
Music on the Move will be held at the Bentonville Tiger Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $30 and may be purchased online.
• Stuff the Bus
United Way of Northwest Arkansas will gear up for back to school as it hosts is annual school supply drive, Stuff the Bus, on July 18-19.
Big yellow school buses will be parked at Walmart locations throughout NWA, with volunteers on-hand to collect school supplies from shoppers. Participating Walmart stores will include Bentonville, Fayetteville (MLK and Mall), Huntsville, Rogers (Pleasant Grove and Walnut St.), Siloam Springs, Springdale, and Jane, Mo.

• Dream Big Charity Gala
The Children's Safety Center in Springdale invites guests to "Dream Big" as it hosts its annual Charity Gala on July 19.
Hosted at the Fayetteville Town Center, this year's event will offer gala-goers to chance to win big, with its silent auction, themed-basket raffle, and 50/50 drawing. A live auction will also be held, featuring a Labradoodle puppy and other prize packages. Guests will also enjoy a cigar pull, wine pull, and selfie contest.
The gala will feature food and beverage from a number of local eateries and shops. Entertainment will be provided by Boom Kinetic, with "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" winner Barrett Baber also set to perform.
A special VIP reception will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by general registration and check-in at 7 p.m. In celebration of the season, guests are encouraged to wear black and white summer cocktail attire.
Individual gala tickets are $65. Special rates for The Chancellor Hotel on the Fayetteville Square are being offered for the night of the event. For more information on the gala, call 872-6183.
• Unplugged Concert @ Crystal Bridges
Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art invites families to enjoy "the sights and sounds of summer" as it hosts Texas-based bluegrass band, Wood & Wire on July 26.
The group will perform in an unplugged concert in the museum's Skyspace Amphitheater. The concert will last from 7 to 9 p.m.
Admission to the concert is free and no reservations are required. A cash bar and concession stand will be available. For more information, call 657-2335.
