Election Central: Nate Steel Releases First TV Ad
KATV’s Janelle Lilley has the latest rundown of Arkansas politics in this Election Central Daily Brief.
STEEL RELEASES TV AD
Democratic candidate for attorney general, State Representative Nate Steel (D-Nashville), released his first TV ad on Friday (July 25).
The ad highlights Steel’s time as a prosecutor and his concerns with the parole system in Arkansas. He also takes a subtle shot at his opponent, Republican candidate Leslie Rutledge. Steel vows — as attorney general — to keep his focus on Arkansas seniors and families and not national political agendas. Steel’s ad runs in a 30-second and 60-second spot.
ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL
A few campaign events on the docket for Saturday:
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Ross and Senator Mark Pryor will both attend the Johnson County Peach Festival and Parade.
Pryor’s opponent, Republican Representative Tom Cotton will hold a press conference on Saturday. Cotton is expected to announce a new “Veterans for Cotton” coalition.
