International Migratory Bird Day
Saturday May 3, 2014 with Family Activities
International Migratory Bird Day celebrates and brings attention to one of the most important and spectacular events in the Americas – bird migration. IMBD is celebrated in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.
Hobbs State Park celebrates International Migratory Bird Day with a variety of family-orientated events, including live falcons. Activities include:
9-11 am – Birds N Breakfast: (Free breakfast) Join U of A personnel as they capture and handle song birds and then release them. Bring your camera!
10 am – 3 pm – Wood Caving Display of birds the way Audubon envisioned them
10:30 am -Bird Hikes
1:00 pm – Bird Observation Station
2:00 pm – Friends of Hobbs Speaker Leah Whitehead: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Benton County – a look at our checkered history
2:00 pm – Afternoon on the Lake cruise on Beaver Lake
3:00 pm – Live Falcon Demonstration: A must see for ALL ages
