Hobbs State Park spring lake tours begin on March 22nd.
Outside of those who nest here, the rest of our migrating bald eagles will have returned to their homes in northern U.S. states as well as Canada. Instead of bald eagles, our attention will be drawn to new color and growth. Now we notice our bluffs, glades, and lakeside cave openings. Migrating cliff swallows return. The weather is warmer, and it’s time to watch for hawks, kingfishers, and great blue herons. The perspective from a boat is like no other.
Dates for Hobbs State Park spring Beaver Lake cruises are:
March: 22, 23, 26, 28, 29, 30
April: 12, 13, 19, 20
May: 3, 4, 10, 17, 18 (special Mother’s Day cruise on May 11)
Tickets must be purchased in advance through the park’s visitor center on Hwy 12 just east of the Hwy 12/War Eagle Road intersection. Adults $10.00 + tax. Children 6-12 $5.00 + tax. Tours depart Rocky Branch Marina at 2:00 p.m. For more information and to make reservations, call: 479-789-5000
