Gino Bell named A Club captain for Arkansas-South Carolina game
Former Arkansas defensive lineman Geno Bell will serve as the A Club Honorary Captain for Saturday’s game between Arkansas and South Carolina.
Bell was a four-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks. Bell played at Arkansas from 1993-95 and finished his career in 1997 after suffering an injury before the start of the 1996 season.
A native of Columbia, S.C., Bell finished his collegiate career with 185 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four pass breakups and three fumble recoveries. Bell still ranks tied for 17th in school history in both career tackles for loss and career sacks.
Bell’s best season as a Razorback came in 1995 when he helped Arkansas to a SEC Western Division title. Bell finished the 1995 season with 89 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss. Bell also contributed a team-high 10 tackles for loss in 1997 and added eight quarterback hurries.
Following his collegiate career, Bell played in the NFL with the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns. He now works as the Senior Director of Transportation at Walmart.
The A Club honorary captain is recognized before each home game for their outstanding accomplishments on the field during their Razorback career. Each captain will be available for a brief autograph session at the AT&T Fan Zone at The Gardens prior to each game. Before kickoff, they will be recognized and will accompany the captains to midfield for the coin toss.
