Arvest promotes Craig Shy

Arvest Bank recently promoted Craig Shy to loan manager and executive vice president in Fayetteville.


Shy has been with Arvest Bank for nine years, previously serving as commercial banking manager for two years and area loan manager for seven years. He has previous experience with Bank of Arkansas, First National Bank of Kansas in Overland Park, Kan., and The Merchants Bank in Kansas City, Mo.

“Craig has consistently demonstrated the customer service and commitment that Arvest Bank expects from our associates,” said Donny Story, president for Arvest Bank in Fayetteville. “His extensive experience with Fayetteville’s business banking customers will be a great asset in his new position.”

A 1985 graduate of Jenks High School in Jenks, Okla., Shy graduated in 1989 from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance. He is also a 2009 graduate of the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

He served as an officer and in various leadership roles for the Northside Fayetteville Rotary Club, the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Life Styles Inc. and Life Styles Foundation. He also serves as a board member of the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation and the Sigma Nu Gamma Upsilon Alumni Board and is a member and volunteer with the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas and the National Down Syndrome Congress.

He and his wife April have four children ranging in age from 18 to 7 years old. The family attends Fayetteville First Baptist Church where he serves on the stewardship committee.
