Nightmare on Elm Street Zombie 5K & Fun Run

WHO: Rogers Optimist Club

DATE: October 26, 2013

TIME: Registration starts at 3:00 PM
             1-Mile Fun Run at 4:00 PM
             Zombie 5K at 4:30 PM

WHERE: Downtown Rogers, Frisco Park Stage, South First Street, Rogers, Arkansas

WHAT: Run for your life through downtown Rogers dodging zombies the whole way. Will you finish the race “Dead” or “Alive”? All 5K runners will be “Alive” at the beginning of the race. If you cross the finish line untouched by a Zombie you receive a prize. If you would rather not risk your life, then sign up for the 1-Mile Fun Run. All 5K runners will receive a goody bag and t-shirt. Additional shirts may be purchased on site. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be given for best costume for a single runner and for best team.

WHY: All proceeds of the race will go to local friend of youth projects of the Rogers Optimist Club. The Rogers Optimist Club’s Mission is simple, to bring out the best in kids! Since 1979, Optimists have been serving the youth of Rogers, AR. The Optimist Club of Rogers is a member of Optimist International www.optimist.org. We conduct service projects for the kids in our community, such as an essay and oratorical contest, an annual fishing derby, and Respect for Law Day. We also donate to other youth organizations like American Legion Baseball, Crossroads School, Nothing in Return, and Shop with a Cop. The club provides scholarships to a graduating senior from each high school and also sponsors the Player of the Week and Player of the Month at each middle school and high school.
