Art Museum Day
Saturday, May 18, 11 am to 11 pm
Take part in this international observance of the important role museum’s play in our world. Visit Crystal Bridges today to join in a 12-hour celebration of art and museums! The Museum will be open extended hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with indoor and outdoor activities taking place throughout the day and evening. Take part in a gallery and trail tours, a gallery talk on the art of Mark Rothko, and art-making fun in the drop-in Studio. Sign up for a yoga session on the Museum’s South Lawn with Yoga Story, or take a walk up the Orchard Trail to view Buckyball, the new illuminated sculpture by Leo Villareal.
Tickets to view American Chronicles: The Art of Norman Rockwell will be free after 6 p.m. and may be obtained only from the Guest Services desk on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5:30 p.m. No advance reservations will be accepted. Eleven will be offering dinner service between 5 and 10 p.m. In addition, the Museum Store will offer special Museum Day discounts on select merchandise, and the Crystal Bridges Library will hold a drawing for a free Norman Rockwell book!
