The all-night event will feature “cross-functional teams” of programmers, designers and other employees who will collaborate to learn “emerging technologies and create forward-thinking digital products,” according to the Rockfish press release.
After 24 hours of crafting their ideas, team will pitch concepts to a panel of judges, who rate projects on criteria including business feasibility and technical savvy.
“It’s in our DNA at Rockfish to rapidly innovate and problem-solve for our clients,” Bill Akins, VP of Client Services, said in the statement. “The Hackathon will encourage us to continue to push the envelope – the more technically ambitious an idea is, the better.”
Employees from the Little Rock office will join those at the Rockfish headquarters in Rogers to host one of three Hackathon locations. Teams from the agency’s Dallas and Cincinnati offices are also competing.
The event will be held in Northwest Arkansas. Expected to participate are 30 Rockfish employees from Rogers and Little Rock, plus 45 from Cincinnati and Dallas. Local judges include executives from the Rockfish client base.
