Crystal Bridges staff member appointed to regional board
Heather Marie Wells, education technology coordinator for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, was recently elected as a director of the Southeast Museums Conference (SEMC). She will serve a three-year term.
The SEMC, a nonprofit membership organization, provides education and professional development opportunities, encourages the interchange of ideas and information and fosters respect and collegiality among member organizations.
Wells was formerly awarded the 2008 Emerging Professional of the Year honor from the SEMC. and also garnered two MUSE awards from the American Alliance of Museums’ Media and Technology Committee and several awards from the Arkansas Museums Association. In addition, Wells is serving her second term on the board of the Arkansas Museums Association.
The three other new directors for the SEMC include: David Butler, executive director of the Knoxville Museum of Art; Julie Harris, executive director, River Discovery Center in Paducah; and Deitrah Taylor, assistant registrar at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, Ga.
