Shepperd named news director at 40/29
Greg Shepperd has been named the news director for KHBS/KHOG-TV 40/29, and will begin in his new role on Sept. 4.
Shepperd has been a newsroom manager with Hearst Television stations for the last seven years, most recently as the managing editor for KCRA-TV in Sacramento, Calif.
Prior to Shepperd’s work with KCRA, he was assistant news director at WDSU-TV in New Orleans. He also worked as executive producer and producer at WDSU. Before joining Hearst Television, Shepperd worked for WCNC-TV in Charlotte, N.C., for six years in a variety of news producing roles.
Shepperd has been honored for his contributions to multiple Edward R. Murrow awards, including a National award in 2011 for KCRA’s Breaking News coverage of the Galleria mall fire. Shepperd also has multiple Emmy Awards to his credit, including Best Newscast and Continuing Coverage.

Shepperd graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C.
