ROGERS — Northwest Arkansas’ first Mercy Clinic Mingle  took place at Pinnacle Country Club Thursday night (Aug. 16) as a way for guests to meet the newest Mercy providers and re-connect with established colleagues.

Most dropped theirs ties and lab coats — though one did come in scrubs — to help create a casual, after-hours environment in which to become better acquainted. Attendees represented several specialties and areas of medicine, from family practice and general surgery to cardiology and pediatrics.

Between 50 and 75 doctors, staff and their spouses dropped in over the reception’s two and a half hours along with the Mercy NWA administration: president and CEO Scott Streett; Dr. Steve Goss, president and physician executive of Mercy Clinic; and Steve Hughes, chief administrative officer for Mercy Clinic.

Mercy NWA has 130 integrated providers and is adding more. About 20 physicians come on board in the last year. The intent, said Streett, is to create a team of health experts who work together to keep families healthier, reduce costs and improve the patient experience.

The hospital employs 1,500 people at the 165-bed Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bentonville and 27 Mercy Clinic locations in Bella Vista, Bentonville, Centerton, Lowell, Rogers and Noel, Mo.  Mercy Northwest Arkansas is part of Mercy of St.Louis, Mo. – the nation’s seventh largest Catholic health care organization.
