Guest bartenders put on the glitz for cancer society
ROGERS — The American Cancer Society’s moniker as “the Official Sponsors of Birthdays” was carried out to the hilt by party girls Vonda Gardner and Patricia Brown for the organization’s second annual End of Summer Birthday Bash.
The two-night affair (Aug. 24-25) at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse also got a lift from the Northwest Arkansas Young Professionals, though the cancer society was the beneficiary.
Close friends and cancer survivors Gardner and Brown donned tiaras and glitzy attire and worked the crowd with flashy smiles that begged for bigger, better tips. In turn, they won the celebrity bartending contest on Friday night (Aug. 24). The pair are a staple at many a cancer-related fundraiser despite the fact Brown is battling the disease yet again.
Friday night’s Birthday Bash at Ruth’s Chris also featured another celebrity couple, Power 105.7’s Tim and Jeff in the Morning, Jeff Januszek and Tim Timmerman. The power pair are seemingly everywhere these days.
While the guest bartenders were out shagging tips for the cause, at least one professional was needed to assist with mixology. Katy Cario kept order behind the bar, a benefit for both guests and guest bartenders.
