Lejong, Beall Barclay receive ASCPA awards
Katherine “Katie” Lejong, CPA, was recently named as the recipient of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) 2012 Outstanding Emerging CPA Award.
Katie is a senior audit manager at Beall Barclay & Company in Fort Smith.
Also, Beall Barclay has been named the recipient of ASCPA 2012 Public Service for Firms Award. The firm has offices in Rogers and Fort Smith.
The award received by Lejong recognizes a new CPA that has passed the CPA Exam within the last 10 years, and/or a young CPA that is 40 years of age or younger, who has made significant contributions to the Accounting Profession as well as the community at large.
Lejong is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and licensed in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. She is a member of the Arkansas Society of CPAs, and is serving as president of the Western Chapter of CPAs. In addition, she is also a member of the following organizations: American Institute of CPAs, Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, United Way of Fort Smith Young Leaders Steering Committee, and Young Emerging Leaders (YEL)-Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce.
The ASCPA Public Service Award for Firms aims to recognize firms for their public service contributions on the local, state, or national level. The award intends to encourage more CPA firms to initiate or increase their community activities, publicize those activities, and reinforce the profession’s reputation for commitment to the public.
Almost any public service related activity will count, except for professional services related to accounting organizations, which are not considered in determining the award winner. In evaluating the Public Service Award for Firms, consideration is given to the size of the firm in relation to its contribution to the community it serves.
Lejong and Beall Barclay will formally be recognized as the recipient of the ASCPA Outstanding Emerging CPA Award at the Arkansas Society of CPAs Awards Banquet, to be held June 15, in Little Rock, Ark.
