NWACC to offer safety training for OSHA
BENTONVILLE – NorthWest Arkansas Community College has partnered with OSHA to offer a 10-hour marathon for construction safety training. The training will be held Saturday, May 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bentonville main campus in Burns Hall.
Registration is required and seating is limited. Cost is only $25 and lunch will be provided. Deadline for registration is May 16. Training will be available in English and in Spanish.
The event is designed for construction workers, foremen, job site superintendents, project managers and anyone involved in the construction industry. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-hour Construction Outreach Card the same day.
This is the first time this type of OSHA marathon training has been offered in Arkansas and is the result of several NWACC partnerships with OSHA, Hispanic Contractors Association de Tejas, and University of Texas at Austin.
“This is win, win, win for everyone,” David Hartman, NWACC Environmental Safety and Regulatory Science instructor, said. “This training makes workers employable and is a wonderful opportunity for NWACC to further utilize the campus for the community.”
