NWACC names new executive director of public relations
BENTONVILLE – Steven Hinds has been named the new executive director of public relations and marketing for NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
In his new role, Hinds will serve as an advocate for the college and oversee the management of the college brand and reputation. He will represent the college at external functions and facilitate strategies that support the college’s mission and strategic goals. Hinds will also provide leadership and creative direction for both internal and external communications.
“We are thrilled to have Steven join the NWACC family,” said Wyley Elliott, vice president, public relations and development, NorthWest Arkansas Community College. “Steven is a seasoned professional in the PR and Marketing arena and we look forward to utilizing his knowledge and expertise to share the strengths of this outstanding institution with our stakeholders and media partners.”
Like Elliott, Hines has a background in banking. He spent nearly 10 years with Arvest serving as a vice president for marketing and public relations. Since leaving Arvest, Hines spent six years with two local advertising agencies.
“I am excited to have a role on the NorthWest Arkansas Community College team and work to advance the college’s priorities,” Hinds said. “I was impressed with the students whom I have met and genuinely feel the administrators, faculty, and staff want to provide a high quality experience for all students. I look forward to interacting with members of the media, the NWACC community, and all stakeholders.”
A University of Arkansas alumnus, Hinds earned his bachelor's degree public administration from the Sam M. Walton College of Business and a master’s degree in higher education from University of Arkansas..
Hinds is a 1985 graduate from Springdale High School and lives in Fayetteville with his wife, Christina, and son, Blake.
