Get on the shelf finalists chosen
Ten hopeful entrepreneurs anxiously cleared round one of Walmart’s “Get on the shelf “ contest launched last month. These lucky few were plucked from more than 4,000 submissions in which consumers voted for items they would like to see on the shelf at Walmart stores.
More than one million votes were cast via social media platforms during the first phase of the competition, according to Walmart.
The eclectic list of finalists are selling a wide array of goods from funky fashion to goodwill efforts for nations in need of potable water.
Round two voting will begin Wednesday (April 11) and continue to midnight April 24. The three products that garner most votes in round two will have the opportunity to be sold on Walmart.com and the grand prize winner will possibly secure shelf space in select U.S. Walmart stores
