Alternative to the alternative: Kid Cudi at Barnhill April 29
FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas students will get first dibs Saturday (April 7) on tickets to alternative hip hop recording artist Kid Cudi, booked for Barnhill Arena April 29. Any remaining tickets — if there are any — will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. April 23 through the Walton Arts Center’s ticket office. Prices for non-students start at $31.50.
The show is the UA’s 2012 headliner concert, which is funded through a student activity fee. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show.
The two-step process for students is a little complicated, but sure to be worth it.
First, they must go online beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday to reserve one free ticket. Instructions can be found here. Sales to students runs through noon April 13.
Those lucky enough to reserve a ticket must pick them up in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. April 16-18. (Be sure to have a current student ID handy; concert organizers will be scanning IDs to make sure reservations go to only currently enrolled students.)
There is a safety net for those who can’t make the ticket pick-up. They can email [email protected] no later than 5 p.m. April 18 to arrange pickup and avoid losing the reserved ticket.
Past headliner concerts have included John Mayer, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Dierks Bentley, Snoop Dogg, and Blake Shelton.
The goal of the student-led Headliner Concerts Committee is to bring a major name act to the UA campus each semester. Spots on the committee are up for grabs. Information on how to apply can be found here.
