Tyson Foods raises hunger awareness at home
Tyson Foods continues to fight hunger across America, but Saturday (March 10) the meat giant will share that message at home with a 9:30 a.m. press conference at the University of Arkansas, Broyles Athletic Complex.
Lift Up America and more than 60 UA student-athletes will also take part in the hunger awareness event. Some 30,000 pounds of protein will be donated to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank during Saturday’s event.
The public is invited to attend.
Organizers say the event is significant because Lift Up America and Tyson Foods have established a unique partnership with sports teams from around the U.S., to create awareness of the needs that exist within our country with respect to hunger.
The group encourages leaders from all walks of life to come together in creative and compassionate ways to fight hunger in their local communities.
Each year, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank distributes over 5.7 million pounds of food to more than 150 not-for-profit organizations within the community.
Since 2000, Tyson has been actively engaged in hunger relief donating more than 84 million pounds of protein.
