Students at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville welcome a mobile device charging station recently installed in the school’s Student Center.

The investment was made to help on-the-go students, faculty, and staff avoid power outages on mobile devices and tablets. According to a recent internal survey, approximately 90% of respondents confirmed they’d like to see a free mobile charging station available on the NWACC campus.

“Our modern day students, faculty, and staff who rely on their mobile device for in-class interaction, note-taking, web searching, and social media communication should not have to search for a power outlet to charge their cell phone on the fly,” said Paige Francis, NWACC Associate Vice President, Information Technology. “We implemented this solution to provide our hard-working students and employees with the opportunity to focus on their education and other tasks in the midst of their busy schedules.”

The new charging station boasts the ability to charge 12 devices simultaneously, features easy to understand light prompts, and a 15-minute emergency charge time option for individuals on the move.
