Looking for artists who won’t get washed away
Artists are needed to create designs and paint 16 storm drains in Northwest Arkansas as part of the innovative UpStream Art project.
Modeled off one like it in Springfield, Mo., the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Research and Extension Service is working with the region’s four major cities to spruce up their storm drains with art as a means of bringing attention to what goes down the drains. (Believe us, you don’t want to know.)
But if you’re an artist, either student or professional, Upstream Art is a great way to get your work out there, particularly in a high-traffic area where some of the selected drains are located.
The deadline for applications is Monday (March 19). A list of requirements, as well as photos and more details on the specific storm drains can be found here.
