Arkansas Best announces dividend

Fort Smith-based Arkansas Best Corp. announced Wednesday (Oct. 26) a dividend of 3 cents per share payable Nov. 23 to share holders of record on Nov. 9.
The transportation holding company and parent company of ABF Freight System is scheduled to release third quarter earnings on Friday (Oct. 28).
Arkansas Best posted second quarter net income of $5.298 million, a significant improvement over the loss of $7.444 million in the 2010 quarter.
Company shares (NASDAQ: ABFS) closed Wednesday at $19.79, up $1.11, or almost 6%. During the past 52 weeks the share price has ranged from a $29.08 high to a $14.22 low.
