Stec named COO of Mercy Hospital Fort Smith

Juli Stec has been named chief operating officer for Mercy Hospital Fort Smith. Stec’s appointment was announced in a staff memo from hospital President Ryan Gehrig.
As chief operating officer, Stec will oversee “the fully integrated service line of cardiology services in a dyad relationship” with Amy Fore, chief operating officer for Mercy Clinic, according to an Oct. 21 news release.
Stec will also oversee oncology services, lab, environmental services, facilities, security, food and nutrition, wound care, rehabilitation services, home-based services, the sleep disorder center and the Regional Critical Access Facilities in Ozark, Paris, Boonville and Waldron.
Stec has served for seven years as the executive director of post-acute services for Mercy. She was responsible for the oversight of the 42-bed impatient rehabilitation facility, 10-bed sleep disorder center, acute and outpatient therapy services and wound care services.
Stec received a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. She has worked in health care for more than 30 years with the past 26 years in the Fort Smith area.
Before joining Mercy, she served eight years as CEO of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Fort Smith.
