Aaron Peters, who was let go last fall from his longtime job as sports anchor for the “Razorback Nation” on NBC affiliate KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, is writing a new chapter in his professional career.

According to a “life update video” he posted to his Facebook page April 14, Peters has joined Rogers real estate firm Portfolio Luxury Real Estate as a full-time Realtor.

“I’m going to focus on my real estate career,” Peters said in the video posted to his social media network. “I first got my license in 2005, and it’s something that I know and something that I enjoy.”

The last time Peters posted a Facebook video was Oct. 18, when he used the medium to announce his exit from KNWA, halting a 16-year television career in Northwest Arkansas.

Peters said he was asked to step down after he appeared on-air the previous week slurring his words. He admitted in the video to mixing prescription medicine with alcohol between the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. broadcasts.

“I made a poor, poor judgment decision,” he said in the October video. “I fully regret that, but I take full responsibility … and it’s time for me to accept the consequences.”

Peters is marketing his real estate persona as “AP Agent NWA: Go With a Name You Know.” In the new Facebook video, Peters expressed his thanks to friends who supported him the past few months, and also alluded to a return to television this fall.

“I have a non-compete [agreement] and can’t do anything on air or on the radio until this fall, so I will be getting back into that around October,” he said.
