Dennis Tune, 38, may have been born into the business he now runs, but he has run with it since becoming co-owner.

Dennis and his brother, Michael, purchased the ownership of Tune Trucking Inc. in 2000 from their father, Denny. Since then, Tune Concrete Inc., a subsidiary of Tune Trucking, has expanded from two plants to six.

Tune Concrete has plants in Fayetteville, Rogers, Siloam Springs, Benton, as well as the Texas cities of Fort Worth and McKinney.

“There is so much growth in Northwest Arkansas, and we’re continuing to grow with it,” Dennis Tune said. “That’s what keeps driving us.”

Tune is originally from Fayetteville, where his grandfather founded Tune Trucking in the mid-1950s. The concrete business was started a decade later.

Dennis began working at the company in high school. He later graduated from the University of Arkansas with bachelor degrees in accounting and civil engineering.

Tune is also a registered professional engineer in Arkansas.

Tune Trucking, headquartered in Fayetteville, has about 80 employees. It hauls raw materials – sand and rock – and the concrete mixture for other companies as well as its own projects.

“That helps supplement our concrete business,” Tune said.
