Brian Falcone, 35, grew up in suburban Philadelphia and graduated from Penn State University in 1988.

In 1990, he went to work for Johnson & Johnson and has been with the health care product manufacturer ever since.

Falcone started with J&J as a territory manager in upstate New York. A year later, he became a key account manager serving clients throughout New England.

He worked in New England for three and a half years before moving to the New Jersey area, where he served at different times as unit manager, district manager and trade marketing manager.

“I came to Bentonville in December 2000,” Falcone said. “I’ve been working on the Wal-Mart team as business director ever since.”

Falcone said “clarity of mission” and empowerment are the cornerstones of his management philosophy.

“Wal-Mart is such an important customer that we’re asked to deliver some pretty aggressive results,” Falcone said. “Everybody here is empowered to look at developing ideas.”

Falcone said there are about 50 employees in J&J’s Bentonville office. They represent seven different J&J companies. Seven of those employees are on the Wal-Mart team for the Consumer Products Co.
