Students in elementary and high school alike often make their first tour of Washington Regional Medical Center with Aubrey Carrington in the lead.
Pointing out patient rooms, the emergency department and the nursery, he introduces kids to life at a hospital. Often, the tour is the students’ first visit to a large medical complex.
“We let them see what all is going on,” Carrington said.
As a public relations specialist for Washington Regional Medical System, 36-year-old Carrington enjoys showing off the hospital.
With an advertising and sales background, Carrington said he wants to stay in the healthcare industry longterm.
Right now, Carrington’s plate brims with the biggest project in the the medical system’s history. In August of 2002, WRMC will open a new location on Northhills Boulevard in Fayetteville.
Four years ago, Carrington moved to Northwest Arkansas from Memphis, and he joined the medical center in 1999.
Originally, Carrington managed public relations for the radiology department. Now, he helps coordinate relations for the entire medical system.
