Parsons named NEA Baptist CEO in Jonesboro area

Brad Parsons, a longtime employee of Baptist Memorial Health Care, is the new CEO of  all Jonesboro operations for the Memphis-based hospital company.

Following the resignation of Darrell King, former chief executive offer of NEA Baptist Clinic, Parsons, CEO and administrator of NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, was named CEO of NEA Baptist Health System. Parsons will oversee the operations of all NEA Baptist entities, including NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, NEA Baptist Clinic and NEA Baptist Fowler Family Center for Cancer Care.

Parsons was named CEO/administrator of NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in June 2012.

“We are honored Brad has accepted this newly expanded role with NEA Baptist,” Randy King, vice president metro operations with Baptist Memorial Health Care, said in a statement.. “His eight-year career with the Baptist Memorial Health Care system has prepared him to oversee all of the NEA Baptist entities.”

Parsons began his career with Baptist in 2008 as assistant administrator at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, then serving as administrator and CEO of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Before coming to Baptist, Parsons served as assistant vice president of Decatur General Hospital in Decatur, Ala., where he was responsible for various hospital support services.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Parsons earned a bachelor’s degree from Birmingham Southern College and a masters’s degree in business administration and hospital administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Parsons serves as a member of the Jonesboro Economic Development Council, the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Parsons received the 2013 American College of Healthcare Executives Early Career Healthcare Executive (ACHE) Regent’s Award.

NEA Baptist Health System comprises NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital, NEA Baptist Fowler Family Center for Cancer Care and NEA Baptist Clinic, northeast Arkansas’ largest physician group. The 216-bed hospital offers cancer care, heart care through the Heart Center, labor and delivery services through the hospital’s Women’s Center, as well as a number of inpatient and outpatient services, emergency care, and surgical services including weight loss surgery, neurology, respiratory care, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
